1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing and using SermonBuddy (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you must discontinue use of the Service immediately.

2. Jurisdiction and International Use

SermonBuddy is operated in the United States. If you access the Service outside the United States:

• You do so voluntarily and at your own risk.
• You are solely responsible for compliance with local laws.
• Your data will be processed in the United States under US standards.
• SermonBuddy does not warrant compliance with GDPR or other international data laws.

3. Use License

SermonBuddy grants you a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal or ministry purposes. You may not:

• Modify, distribute, resell, or lease the Service or its content.
• Reverse-engineer or attempt to extract source code.

4. Account Termination

We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these Terms, involve unlawful activities, or harm the integrity of the Service.

5. Intellectual Property

SermonBuddy and its content are protected under international copyright laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or use content for unauthorized purposes.

6. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for your account's security and usage. You agree to use the Service lawfully and avoid misuse, including:

• Uploading harmful or illegal content.
• Attempting to bypass security or access unauthorized areas.

7. Limitation of Liability

SermonBuddy provides services “as is” without warranties. We disclaim liability for:

• Errors in generated suggestions or research feedback.
• Data loss, breaches, or unauthorized access.
• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

7A. User Content and Research Uploads

You retain ownership of content you upload. For every research document, you must confirm that you own the document or have permission to upload and use it. You are responsible for the document and for complying with copyright, privacy, contractual, and other applicable rights.

You grant SermonBuddy only the limited permission necessary to privately store, retrieve, process at your direction, and delete the document as part of providing the Service. Uploaded research documents are not added to a shared content library or used to train models.

8. Data and Security

While we implement industry-standard measures, no system is completely secure. By using the Service, you acknowledge and accept potential risks associated with data storage and processing.

9. Dispute Resolution

In the event of disputes, we encourage informal resolution by contacting us at support@sermonbuddy.ai. If unresolved, disputes shall be governed by Illinois law and resolved exclusively in Illinois courts.

10. Modification of Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service signifies acceptance of any changes.
